As you can see, the infrared saunas from Bauer and Clearlight differ in several respects.

Above all, the infrared technology, the material, and the warranty services are very different and accordingly also make a significant difference in quality.

What exactly is the Bauer Saunarium?

The original Bauer Saunarium is a type of portable infrared cabin that can be set up almost anywhere in your home with little effort.

It is easy to use, quick to assemble and disassemble, economical in power consumption, and space-saving. For example, you can set up this Bauer sauna in front of the TV or easily read a book while in the sauna through the hand openings.

The Saunarium can even be taken with you in a bag when traveling. As you can see, flexibility is probably the greatest strength of this product.

According to the manufacturer, this special infrared sauna from Bauer is based on years of research and experience in the field of infrared technology.

It uses patented far-infrared semiconductor technology, which, according to its own statements, guarantees radiation power in the vital range of 4-14 µm wavelengths.

The portable Bauer infrared sauna is TÜV-tested and ISO-certified. It weighs about 11 kg and, according to the manufacturer, cannot overheat.

The 2 radiators used can be switched independently to adjust the desired heat and reach a maximum temperature of 65°C.

The casing of the Bauer Saunarium is made of specially coated plastic that reflects the generated far-infrared radiation in all directions. This is intended to maximize efficiency.

How much does a Bauer Saunarium cost?

A mobile infrared sauna is particularly suitable for people with limited space at home. Or for people who travel a lot and still don't want to miss out on the luxury and comfort of an infrared cabin.

If you are considering buying an original Bauer Saunarium, you can expect to pay exactly €1,198.

This puts the Saunarium in the lower price segment and offers an affordable mobile infrared sauna.

However, you should not forget that the product comes without any warranty service. Only the legally prescribed warranty of 2 years applies.

The mobile infrared cabin from Clearlight

The Sauna Dome from Clearlight is the only mobile infrared cabin in their product range. In it, you can enjoy infrared heat while lying down.

You simply lie down on the comfortable memory foam mat, which is equipped with infrared emitters. Your body is enveloped by a two-part dome, which is also equipped with heating elements.

Only your head protrudes from the top of the dome, which is particularly helpful for people with low tolerance to hot environments.

In addition, your body can regulate its core temperature better this way, and you can enjoy the health benefits of an infrared sauna for even longer.

The entire infrared sauna weighs under 30 kg and can be easily assembled and disassembled in just a few minutes. You can also store it easily, as it only takes up about as much space as 2 bar stools.

In terms of technology, the mobile infrared sauna is in no way inferior to Clearlight's other heat cabins.

In fact, like all other Clearlight products, it is equipped with patented True Wave™ far-infrared heaters, which consist of a carbon-ceramic combination and are characterized by extremely low EMF values.

Thus, in this infrared sauna, you can benefit from exactly the same advantages as in a larger infrared cabin.

It differs from other Clearlight infrared cabins in that it is more compact. This makes it flexible and versatile and an optimal alternative for people who have little space available.

Highly efficient infrared cabins

You need to know that the main effect of an infrared cabin is not achieved by the increased room temperature, but by the infrared waves.

That is why it is so important to guarantee a holistic 360° supply of infrared heat. Because only in this way can a truly effective result be achieved.

This is also how the effectiveness of the Bauer Saunarium is described. The problem, however, is that such a holistic degree of effectiveness is not possible with only small emitters in the foot area, as is found in the Saunarium.

With this product, you sit on an uncomfortable, camping chair-like chair, and on the other hand, all-round infrared supply can never be guaranteed.

Even if the radiation is slightly reflected by the plastic casing, a complete warming and effect cannot be achieved. Rather, the emitters generate localized heat in the foot area.

However, sweating mainly occurs due to the increasing room temperature in the Saunarium. Therefore, one cannot actually speak of infrared therapy, but only of heat therapy.

This characteristic probably marks the biggest difference to Clearlight's Dome sauna, where you are holistically surrounded by infrared emitters.

The heater technology of both products

Speaking of infrared heaters, the products also vary greatly in this respect. The two heaters of the Saunarium are made of ceramic. The mobile infrared cabin from Clearlight, on the other hand, is equipped with patented carbon and ceramic infrared heaters.

These are the only infrared heaters in the world that combine carbon and ceramic, thus combining the advantages of both types of heaters.

Carbon heaters produce high-quality and long-wave infrared heat, but in smaller quantities. Ceramic heaters, on the other hand, emit a larger amount of infrared heat, but usually with shorter wavelengths.

Through the unique combination of the two technologies and materials, we at Clearlight achieve very high-quality and intense infrared radiation that you will not find in any other infrared cabin.

Due to its high effectiveness, even an intensive, local hyperthermia application can be carried out. Hyperthermia is an artificial fever effect that has been shown to kill viruses and bacteria.

BAUER also talks about a vital range of 4-14 µm, in which the heaters used emit most wavelengths.

However, the actually important wavelength range is between 7-14 µm. The Saunarium can reach this range due to the ceramic heaters, but only at very low intensity.

With Clearlight's hybrid heaters, however, reaching these wavelengths is no problem.

Because the emitted wavelengths of the True Wave™ far-infrared heaters are specifically adapted to the absorption capacity of the human body.

The human body absorbs infrared radiation best in the range of 7-14 µm. This is because this is the resonance frequency range of water molecules. Since the human body consists of approximately 70% water, the commonality is obvious.

The ideal wavelength for the human body is 9.4µm in the far-infrared range (Type C).

The wavelengths produced by the True Wave™ far-infrared heaters also lie exactly in this range. This guarantees an ideal match with your body's absorption capacity.

Low electrosmog pollution

Another important topic in connection with the use of infrared cabins is the associated electrosmog.

The colloquial term electrosmog actually refers to electromagnetic frequencies (EMF) and extremely low frequencies (ELF).

They arise when any electrical device is used, including most infrared heaters.

Since they have been extensively researched, it is now known that they can have a negative impact on human health.

However, with a Clearlight infrared cabin, you don't have to worry about this. Both the True Wave™ far-infrared heaters used in the Sauna Dome and our full-spectrum infrared heaters have by far the lowest EMF and ELF values on the market.

The values are almost at 0, which no other provider has yet achieved to this extent with infrared cabins.

Bauer unfortunately does not provide any information on these EMF and ELF values, which is why it must be assumed that electrosmog pollution in the Saunarium is tending to be high.

Pure luxury with the infrared cabin for your home

Since an infrared cabin is all about wellness and health, our goal is to make every Clearlight infrared cabin as comfortable as possible.

Therefore, you can comfortably lie down on the memory foam mat in the mobile infrared cabin. Since even the mat is equipped with True Wave™ far-infrared heaters, you will be irradiated from all sides.

This is not possible in Bauer's Saunarium. For use, you have to sit on a possibly uncomfortable chair for a longer period.

Due to the small number of heating elements, you will not be hit by the infrared wavelengths, at least not on your back and buttocks. Effective sweating with full effect is therefore not given here.

The best infrared cabin for your home

As you can see, not all that glitters is gold. With this abundance of different products on the market, it is difficult to make a decision.

In addition, many providers are only conditionally open and transparent with product information, so you are more likely to make bad purchases.

However, Clearlight products are undoubtedly among the best infrared cabins on the market.

However, the final decision is always yours. If you decide to buy an infrared sauna, you now know what to look out for.

We hope that this article has helped you with your decision and that, based on the information and your wishes, concerns, and budget, you can make a well-considered decision for your personal wellness experience.
