Both cabins come with a glass door, with Allwaspa opting for a more classic design of wood and glass, while Clearlight's Sanctuary model features a glass front and half-glass roof, resulting in an open and modern design.

If the classic model is more appealing, the Clearlight Premier infrared cabin can also be considered. Clearlight's product portfolio includes a mix of classic and modern designs to offer its customers a wide range of options.

There are clear differences in the heaters:
Allwaspa uses ceramic infrared heaters, which fall into the category of "tube heaters." These heaters have a smaller surface area and therefore a very high surface temperature. Due to the small surface area, they are embedded in a type of tube, which provides a very localized intense infrared heat supply that only reaches partial areas.

If you are sitting directly in front of the heater, good heat supply is guaranteed, but if you are not sitting directly in front of it, good heat supply is not guaranteed because the radiation angle of the heater is severely limited due to the tube. This is quite visible in the pictures of the sauna. There is a gap between one heater and the next. This area has less infrared heat supply due to the specific radiation angle of the infrared heater.

Regarding heater technology, Allwaspa relies on ceramic heaters with infrared-B and infrared-C.

Clearlight uses the 9th generation of patented blend of carbon-ceramic heaters that emit long-wave C-radiation. Additional full-spectrum heaters ideally cover the full infrared spectrum. Furthermore, the carbon-ceramic heaters ensure a full 360° heat supply, so users can be sure to be fully irradiated with the greatest possible freedom of movement.

The larger surface provides even and well-distributed infrared. Due to the infrared heater technology (surface heaters in combination with full-spectrum heaters), a full 360° heat supply is ensured.

Since ceramic heaters need to get very hot to emit radiation, the power consumption of the Allwaspa infrared cabin is about 26% higher than that of the Clearlight infrared cabin.

There are also some differences regarding "electrosmog." Allwaspa states that low-electrosmog infrared heaters are used. Clearlight also uses low-electrosmog infrared heaters but has looked into the topic in greater depth:


In addition to the possibility of saunas completely free of common electrosmog (electromagnetic fields), Clearlight has also designed the sauna in such a way that other types of electrosmog, which can additionally burden the body, are also reduced. This primarily concerns electric fields (ELF).

The further the electronics are from the human body, the lower the impact of electrosmog. Clearlight has placed the electronics, especially the central control unit, in the shielded roof, where all currents converge. On the inside of the roof, as well as everywhere in the cabin, further technical refinements have been incorporated to achieve the world's lowest exposure to electrosmog (electromagnetic and electric fields).

Infrared cabins from Allwaspa, on the other hand, have a control unit installed under the bench, as images on the website at least suggest (as of April 2023). So you are literally sitting on a central power consumer. Therefore, before making a purchase decision, you should contact customer service and clarify any

All about Allwaspa Infrared Cabins

Allwaspa is a Swiss infrared cabin manufacturer that acts as a general representative for the US manufacturer PLH in German-speaking countries. This manufacturer also produces HealthMate infrared cabins.

In addition to a website with a wealth of information about the company, Allwaspa also has an informative blog.

Besides classic heat cabins for 2 people, Allwaspa also offers corner cabins and other model sizes.

Technological Features & Infrared Heaters

Allwaspa uses dual-wave ceramic heaters. However, due to their high surface temperature, these primarily emit infrared-B and only a small proportion of the important infrared-C radiation.

All models are made from certified Canadian red cedar wood.

The manufacturer's online presence shows that there is a selection of accessories for the infrared cabins.

How much an Allwaspa Infrared Cabin costs

While purchasing an Allwaspa infrared cabin does not provide the lifetime warranty that Clearlight offers, you can contact the manufacturer for warranty claims for up to 15 years.

Should you not be convinced by the 6-week trial period, you will pay approximately 510 CHF to return the cabin to Allwaspa.

All prices for Allwaspa are clearly listed on the website. The respective price can be found under each model of an Allwaspa infrared cabin.

For example, the AL 130 model used for comparison costs 6,700 CHF. However, this does not include delivery costs and German VAT. A 4-person infrared heat cabin costs approximately 11,900 CHF. Allwaspa delivers throughout Europe. The prices above include Swiss tax. For deliveries to Germany, German VAT and customs duties for import into Germany apply.

What does high-quality infrared radiation mean?

The emitted wavelengths of our heaters are specially adapted to the absorption capacity of our body. The human body emits and absorbs infrared radiation most easily in the range of 7-14μm. This is in the frequency range of water molecules. Since the human body consists of approx. 70% water, this commonality is explained. The ideal wavelength for the human body is 9.4μm in the far-infrared range (Type C).

The far-infrared heaters we use produce most wavelengths in the range of 9-10μm in the Type-C infrared spectrum. This achieves an ideal match with the absorption capacity of the human body (resonance frequency). The infrared radiation penetrates the body layers without being absorbed, and the water and tissue molecules are set into small vibrations.

In direct comparison, the Allwaspa cabin performs well, which is pleasing. In our opinion, however, Allwaspa cabins are considerably more limited in effectiveness and features.

While Allwaspa offers good average products at similar prices, Clearlight primarily stands for a luxurious sauna experience with corresponding quality, warranty, and durability.

Concluding Thoughts

The philosophies of the two companies differ significantly. Both companies are generally considered to be in the premium segment of infrared cabins. For this price, a certain quality and technical features are provided.

Even though both providers rely on infrared radiation, there are significant differences in terms of the selected infrared radiation. Allwaspa relies on a small proportion of infrared-C radiation and a significant proportion of infrared-B radiation, and no proportion of infrared-A radiation.

Allwaspa's main reason for this is that infrared-A is dangerous and must be avoided at all costs. The cited sources are, from a scientific point of view, not very credible, but all infrared-A radiation is demonized, and there is indirectly a scaremongering about the topic. The topic is complex, partly because it is a very technical topic, and it requires clear differentiation.
