Salt therapy with microsalt as an accessory for infrared cabins

Salty air has a positive effect on the respiratory tract. You can visit a salt cave or go to the sea - or simply bring salt therapy home and use it in your Clearlight infrared cabin.

The history of salt therapy

Modern salt therapy dates back to the Polish physician Feliks Boczkowski. In the 19th century, he noticed that miners in salt mines suffered less frequently from respiratory problems than workers in other mines. In 1843, he published a treatise in which he extensively described his theory of the healing effects of salty air. However, salt therapy was already used by the ancient Romans and in ancient Greece.

The Greek word for "salt" is "halos," which is why salt therapy is also known as halotherapy.

What is halotherapy?

In salt caves, the air is enriched with salt, which is why stays in such caves are curative for respiratory diseases. Halotherapy imitates the healthy microclimate of salt caves by grinding natural, crystallized salt into microscopic particles and dispersing it as a nebulized salt aerosol in the room or in the infrared cabin. The salt particles have a size of 2-5 µm (micrometers) and can penetrate into the deepest respiratory tract.

Salt (chemically sodium chloride) is a natural component of the human body, and it is the only substance on which halotherapy is based. Halotherapy does not involve any medicines or other substances.

Halotherapy as an accessory for Clearlight Infrared Saunas

So that you can benefit from salt therapy in everyday life, you can upgrade your Clearlight infrared cabin with the Clearlight HaloOne salt therapy, which grinds high-purity, pharmaceutical-grade salt into microfine particles and distributes them evenly throughout the entire infrared cabin. This way, you create your own small salt cave.

The medical effects of halotherapy

The incidence of respiratory diseases is steadily increasing. More and more people suffer from increasing air pollution or pollen allergies, which lead to inflammation in the airways and make breathing difficult.

Respiratory diseases that respond well to salt therapy include asthma, chronic bronchitis, and COPD.1,2

Halotherapy reduces inflammation of the bronchial mucosa, which can be caused, for example, by pollutants in the air, allergies, or chronic diseases. Bacterial infections can also heal better or even be prevented with the help of salt therapy.

Lung function measurably improves with salt therapy. Studies have shown that patients can often reduce their medication - but this should always be done in consultation with the treating physician and never on their own initiative!

Easier breathing significantly improves overall condition and quality of life, and the immune system is also strengthened. The frequency of asthma attacks or severe respiratory diseases is reduced, and hospital stays may be avoided.

Coughing up mucus is made easier, the mucus is less viscous and can be more easily expelled from the airways. Tormenting attacks of dry cough are also reduced by halotherapy.

The oxygen content in the blood is increased, many patients sleep better, suffer less from fatigue during the day and feel generally more vital.

Halotherapy is very well tolerated and has virtually no side effects.

In principle, if you have any complaints, it is important to consult a doctor so that a correct medical diagnosis can be made. Any acute worsening of your condition must also be medically evaluated. Salt therapy can make an important contribution to improving your symptoms, but it cannot completely replace other therapies or the use of medication.

Most respiratory diseases, but also some skin diseases such as eczema or neurodermatitis, can be alleviated with salt therapy. There are only a few diseases where salt therapy should only be used with caution. These include, for example, certain types of hyperthyroidism, high blood pressure, coronary heart disease, heart attack, lung cancer, and epilepsy. Please consult your doctor to discuss whether halotherapy is suitable for you.

But not only chronically ill people benefit from halotherapy. Especially during the cold and allergy season, the airways can be irritated. A few sessions in your wellness infrared cabin with HaloOne salt therapy will alleviate your symptoms and strengthen your immune system.

Halotherapy can be used daily. It's best to relax in your Clearlight infrared cabin, breathe calmly, and let the healing salt work on your respiratory tract. Salt therapy can also be combined very well with various scents for infrared cabins.

Another accessory for the infrared cabin: Intensive color light therapy

The spectrum of visible light directly adjoins the infrared light that accounts for the positive effects of Clearlight infrared cabins. Visible light has wavelengths from 380 to 780 nm. The spectrum begins with violet and ends with red light - in between are all the colors of the rainbow, which seamlessly blend into one another.

Visible light also has positive effects on the human body - but also on mind and psyche.

The history of color light therapy

The Greek word for "color" is "chroma," which is why color light therapy is also called chromotherapy or color light.

Color light can boast a centuries-long success story. Already ancient civilizations in India, Egypt and China knew that the colors of the rainbow had different effects on health and well-being and used them for therapeutic purposes. At Clearlight, we combine this ancient knowledge with modern science and sophisticated technology.

We notice that colors influence us in everyday life. The sight of a green meadow has a calming effect, while red signs warn us of dangers.

The effects of individual colors on humans

Before we go into the effects that individual colors have on your health and your psyche, we will give you a brief overview of the positive effects of colored light...

Effects on mind and psyche

  • Relaxation (violet, blue, and green light)
  • Reduction of heart rate (violet, blue, and green light)
  • Stress reduction (blue light)
  • Calming effect (pink light)
  • Increased alertness (blue light)
  • Improved concentration (blue light)
  • Increased mental performance (green, orange, and red light)
  • Improved memory performance (yellow and red light)
  • Stimulating effect (red light)
  • Alleviation of symptoms of anxiety disorders and depression (red light)

Effects on physical health

  • Inhibition of bacterial growth (violet light)
  • Improved wound healing (violet, green, and red light)
  • Reduced pain sensitivity (blue and green light)

Cosmetic effects (all light colors)

  • Reduction of inflammation and redness
  • Improved appearance of the skin
  • Increased regenerative capacity of the skin
  • Improved elasticity and firmness of the skin
  • Reduction of wrinkles

More details on the individual colors here:

Violet

Violet light slows the pulse and has a relaxing and inspiring effect.

It also inhibits bacterial growth and can thus contribute to the healing of skin wounds.

Blue

Blue light is perfect for relaxing. The production of the stress hormone cortisol is measurably reduced. Heart rate also decreases under the influence of blue light. The relaxation caused by blue light soothes, but does not make you sleepy - on the contrary: blue light suppresses the production of the sleep hormone melatonin and increases alertness.

This increases concentration, and difficult tasks become easier to handle.

In addition, blue light reduces pain sensitivity.

Green

Just like blue light, green light reduces pain sensitivity, lowers heart rate, and thus supports relaxation. It has a harmonizing effect on the psyche and increases mental performance.

Especially with fresh wounds, green light improves healing.

Yellow

Yellow light has a stimulating effect and improves memory performance.

Orange

Orange light combines the effects of yellow and red light: it is emotionally stimulating, liberating, and facilitates mental work.

Red

Red light also enhances memory, improves mental performance, is stimulating, and makes one feel energetic.

Red light can also have a positive effect on anxiety disorders and depression.

While green light supports the initial phase of wound healing, later phases benefit from red light. This penetrates well into the skin and unfolds its effect there.

Pink

Pink light does not occur naturally. It is a mixture of blue and red light, which do not blend into each other, but are at opposite ends of the visible spectrum.

Pink light has a calming effect and reduces negative feelings such as aggression and anger.

Cosmetic effects of visible light

Different wavelengths and colors across the entire visible spectrum have a positive effect on the skin. Colored light reduces inflammation and redness and improves the appearance and regenerative capacity of the skin. It also stimulates collagen production, making the skin firmer and more elastic and reducing wrinkles.

Which light color is best for you?

Which light is best in which life situation also varies from person to person. Try out the many ways to surround yourself with soothing colors in your Clearlight infrared cabin and find out which ones are most pleasant and effective for you.

Our Clearlight Premier Infrared Saunas are equipped with our standard color light therapy lamps, which consist of 15 LEDs. They emit light in violet, blue, turquoise, green, yellow, and red, providing a basic therapeutic effect.

The Medical Grade Chromotherapy lamps, with which the Clearlight Sanctuary Saunas are equipped, go one step further - you can choose from 12 different colors, emitted by a total of 96 LEDs: violet, indigo, intense indigo, blue, intense blue, green, intense green, yellow, intense yellow, orange, red and intense pink. You can regulate the intensity of the Medical Grade Chromotherapy lamps using a remote control.

You can select individual colors or set the automatic mode, in which the device cycles through all colors.

Color therapy can be combined very well with music or meditative sounds. The audio equipment of your Clearlight infrared cabin is ideally suited for this.

Vibration Resonance Expansion

The Vibration Resonance Expansion combines the benefits of sound and vibration to create a particularly deep feeling of relaxation for body and mind.

Almost all Clearlight models* can be equipped with the modules. The modules are mounted on the underside of the bench and transform it into a soundboard. This provides your body with a pleasant tactile massage.

You can easily operate the VRT module via Bluetooth or an AUX connection already installed in the sauna.

* This extension is not usable in the Essential models and the Sanctuary Yoga.

300 Watt Full Spectrum Emitter

Not every infrared cabin automatically uses full spectrum emitters (also known as ABC emitters). For far infrared cabins (our Essential and Premier models), it can therefore be useful to equip them with additional powerful full spectrum emitters.

The advantage for you is clear: in addition to the soothing far infrared, thanks to the ABC emitters, you also get near infrared and mid infrared. This allows you to fully enjoy the positive effects of infrared radiation on your health at all levels.

The most innovative accessory for your infrared sauna: red light

As a very special accessory, you can equip your infrared cabin with additional emitters for red light. Near-infrared red light therapy has many positive effects on the body.

Improved skin appearance, more energy in everyday life, and fighting mental illnesses (e.g., depression) are just a few of these health-promoting effects of red light therapy.

Modern and comfortable accessories for your Clearlight Infrared Sauna

Clearlight infrared cabins are equipped with many extras to make their use as pleasant and easy as possible for you. Some of them are part of the basic equipment, while with others you have the option to decide how you want to design your personal infrared sauna.

You can easily and conveniently control the functions of your Clearlight infrared cabin via a special digital control panel. With the Sanctuary and Outdoor models, you also have the option of controlling it via an app on your smartphone. The WLAN can of course be switched off if desired. This takes about 10-15 minutes after setup to remove the WLAN signal.

With the control panel, you can easily check and control the sauna's temperature sensor.

Bluetooth/AUX Audio Inputs

Clearlight infrared cabins are equipped with speakers that allow you to add the music of your choice, relaxing sounds, or guided meditations to your sauna experience. Simply use the Bluetooth and AUX audio inputs.
